Cake, Cake, Cake

Here are some recent cakes I've made!

This was the most recent fondant cake we made in class this week. That's a "trinket box" on the top, made out of fondant. And today I worked on my own birthday cake. It's square...
Yellow cake with chocolate buttercream made from scratch. This was my first time making my own chocolate buttercream. It was a little harder to smooth, but worked out okay.
After doing borders {which typically I'd do last, yes, but this time I didn't. So sue me.}
I used my fun new imprint tools from Wilton.
My writing needs work, but I was okay with how it turned out.

I added an exclamation point later for added excitement. Ooh.
And this, folks, is a cake I made for my family's Father's Day Celebration. Husband dropped one of the layers taking it out of the oven so it collapsed a little, which made the cake unstable, but I got it together okay. It's just lopsided...
This cake is devil's food chocolate with buttercream frosting and a little caramel in the center. Yum! The decorating turned out okay. Taste is what counts, right?

  1. That SpongeBob cake is really good! My daughter loves SpongeBob and we always watch Nickelodeon. DISH Online is a really cool site we use to be able to keep up on the latest episodes. As a DISH employee I can tell you that DISH Online allows you to watch live TV right from your computer even DVR events. Go to www.dishnetwork.com for more info.
